Survivor: Nicaragua was the twenty-fourth season of Survivor. 

The season ended when Bobby won the title of Sole Survivor, beating André by a 5-4 jury vote at the Final Tribal Council. The season featured 20 contestants dubbed as "castaways" marooned on two separate beaches in Nicaragua. They were divided into two tribes divided by age: El Sol in yellow and La Mina in skyblue. The tribes were named after Spanish sayings. On Day 21, the tribes merged into the scarlet Unitad tribe, meaning "unity" in Spanish. 

The hidden immunity returned this season and was hidden on both beaches. However, only Bobby found his tribe's idol. In a revolutionary move of the show's history, Bobby threw his idol into the fire to eliminate the target on his back. That tribal, he received four votes, but Larcus went home instead. 

Outcast Island was not featured. 

The main twist this season was the division into tribes divided by age. All over 40 became part of the El Sol tribe and all those under 40 became part of the La Niña tribe. 

At the finale of Bermuda, producers didn't even have a promo for this season, as it hadn't even been designed yet. Nicaragua was hastily put together to air on time, and was not as largely hailed as its predecessor, but the show's ratings remained high. 

This season gave Survivor an archetypal tribe: one with a strong final five/six alliance that, at the merge, refuses to break and eliminates all from the other tribe. This archetypal tribe is usually led by one charistmatic individual who has all control. This leader usually wins. In this case, Bobby and his La Niña final six alliance applied.
